Strollers are now permitted in the galleries. Guests are welcome to use their own strollers, excluding jogging strollers and double strollers. There are a limited number of complimentary strollers available to check out from coat check. For guests with relatively larger strollers, staff may ask you to leave them behind if they are determined to be too large for the galleries; stroller parking accommodations are limited, so we recommend that you leave your strollers in your vehicle if they exceed the stroller size limit.

Wheelchair Accessibility

The Walt Disney Family Museum is accessible to wheelchair users. Visitors can use the ramp at the left side of the front entrance. Closed Caption and Open Caption accommodations are available in the galleries, too.

The museum offers on-demand closed captioning for some audio experiences in the museum. See the ticket desk for more information.

Foreign-language Audio Guides

Audio guides are available in French, German, Japanese, Mandarin, and Spanish, and are complimentary with paid admission.

Auditory and Sensory Processing Sensitivities

For guests that may be overstimulated by the volume of some exhibits, noise-cancelling headphones are available for loan at the ticket desk and special exhibit hall on a first-come first-serve basis.

Coat Check

Complimentary coat and bag checks are available in the lower level of the museum. All backpacks, parcels, and large bags must be checked. Umbrellas may be left at the front door in umbrella stands. For lost items, see security or call 415.345.6843.

Security and Prohibited Items

For the safety and security of the museum, all bags and parcels are subject to inspection by security. Prohibited items include weapons, knives, box cutters, scissors, flammable liquids, permanent markers, and spray paint.

Military Personnel

Admission is free year-round for active and retired military, their spouses, and dependents with valid ID. The museum also participates in the Blue Star Families program, which grants all active military free admission for themselves plus five addition guests (six people total) between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Lost and Found

The museum is not responsible for lost, stolen, or unattended items, and assumes no responsibility for accidents, loss, or personal injury. If you think you have lost an item at the museum, please contact the front desk at 415.345.6843. Thank you.


Non-flash photography is allowed for personal, non-commercial use in the museum, except where noted. Flash photography and the use of professional camera equipment are not allowed in the museum. Material on exhibit is copyright protected; any reproduction of it will be prosecuted as permitted by all applicable laws. 

Cell Phones

For the enjoyment of all visitors, we request that you refrain from using your cell phone within the galleries.

Ticket Purchase Policies

No refunds and no exchanges. (See Donate Program or Event Tickets section below.)

There is a limit of six* tickets available for purchase per household, unless otherwise stated, for any ticketed program or event, including non-paid ticketed programs and events. The museum reserves the right to void tickets purchased in excess of this limit.

*In some instances, the museum will impose lower limits based on capacity of venue and/or special considerations.

Due to the overwhelming popularity of programs events at the museum, tickets often sell out quickly. The museum does not collect waitlists for programs or events; however, if tickets to a sold-out program or event become available, they will be released for purchase on the museum’s website at 10am the day before the event.

Donate Program or Event Tickets

If you have purchased tickets to a program or event and you are not able to attend, you can now donate your tickets back to the museum for resale. You may donate your tickets until 10am two days before the program or event and receive a record of your tax-deductible contribution equivalent to the ticket price. To donate your tickets back, please send an email to indicating the confirmation number for the original ticket purchase. You will be sent a donation receipt via email once your unused tickets have been accepted for donation back to the museum.

Please note the museum is not able to accept tickets for donation after 10am two days prior to the program or event. We cannot accept donations of tickets over the phone or in person.
